Hello, My name is Brandon Evans and I live on a ranch in Parks, Arizona. I have enjoyed my life to the fullest and don’t intend to stop with my semi-retirement. Having started flying in the 1980’s I have enjoyed owning many aircraft beginning with my first Piper TriPacer which I picked up for a song and completely rebuilt it to showroom condition. I have also been blessed to have owned a C-172, C-182. Over the past 10 years I have been planeless do to a wife who would not fly and the problems involved with new airport security regulations and it just being a pain to fly to other cities and rent a car and such. None the less I missed being in the air. After my divorce I found myself thinking a lot about flying and saw my first Gyrocopter on E-Bay. I didn’t bid on it, but did start surfing the web and seeking information on this crazy craft. In November of 2004 I located an instructor in Arizona, Steve McGowen at American Autogyro in Buckeye and setup a introductory flight. All I can say is WOW! I wish I had done this years ago. This is some of the most fun flying I have ever done. To make a long story short, I purchased a RAF2000 kit from a gentleman, Ray Koehn, who was transferred out of the country and did not have the time to build it. After learning more on Gyros I decided to purchase a kit upgrade from American Autogyro to make it more stable and add Cenrerline Thrust. A quick call to my new buddy Terry Eiland and he assures me my upgrade will be expediated and he can walk me through the additional build. Now for the Unique part. While my shop is not heated and the temperatures are below freezing, I decided that my little used living room would be an ideal workshop for this project. I had already removed the carpet to replace with tile, the arcadia door needs to be removed and replaced which will provide a way to get the gyro out and with no wife to complain about the décor, The Perfect Build Shop! This website is to log my build and maybe have a few pointers to assist others with their build. Enjoy!
